She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Henry and Estella Elling (Wendland); her nephew Glen Elling; and her parents-in-law, Otto and Charlotte Rigg.
She is survived by: her brother Freddy; her sons, Neal (Laurie), Lane and Wade (Denise); her granddaughters, Stella and Sydney; her brother Fred (Elva); and her niece Paula Elling Kratochvil (John).
Lu was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2005.
