It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Gene Merrifield of Butte, Montana, who passed away on March 6, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Merrifield and Louise Escalier Merrifield; his siblings, Jimmy Merrifield and Louise Cavanaugh; his siblings-in-law, Mary Lou, Bob Olson, Kathleen Janney, Jeanne Whelan Ellis, Jack Whelan, Larry, Barbara Whelan and TJ Furshong; and his son-in-law Kevin Dennehy.
He is survived by: his children, Lori and Chuck; his wife Betty; his children, Jim Merrifield and Liza Dennehy of Butte; his children-in-law, Pete Babcock of Missoula, Katie Merrifield of Butte and Jim Richardson of Dillon; his grandchildren, Keli, Jake Dennehy (Jonna Mallillin), Kerianne Fuller (Connor), Jacki (Skyler Roope), Jamey Richardson, Zach and Casey Merrifield; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Janney, Bobbie Whelan, Peggy, Jim Maloney and Donna Furshong. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
