She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Heise and Frieda Heise; her husband Granvil Lee Hays; and her sister Traute Heise. She is survived by: her children, Brandon Hays and Larissa Hautekeete; and her brothers, Otto Heise and Arno Heise. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Heidi Hays Music Therapy Scholarship at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
