He was predeceased by: his parents, A. D. Pruitt and Essie Lillian Pruitt (Breeden); and his siblings, Lauretta Gossack, Marguerite Fulker, Charlie "Chuck" Pruitt and Betty Jo Hoppin.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lynn Pruitt (Anderson); his sons, Aaron David Pruitt (Rachel) of Bozeman and Derek Lee Pruitt (Jocelyn) of Pilot, Virginia; and his granddaughters, Ruby and Cora Pruitt.
