He was predeceased by: his wife Terri Mendenhall; his parents, Lillian Kester and Willis Kester; and his sister Mary Lou Bishop. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Achten (Rob), Tina Kester of Billings, MT, Lynne Grange of Decatur, AL and Rob Satern (Gina) of Iowa; his brothers, Willis Kester (Dorothy) and David Kester of Fort Dodge, IA; his brothers-in-law, Kenny Mendenhall (Wendy) of Billings, MT and Tim Mendenhall (Michelle) of Minnesota; his granddaughter Mandi Swandal (Jace) of Billings, MT; and his great grandchildren, Saylor Dawn and Trace Robert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
On December 6, 2021 Robert lost the love of his life Terri to a short battle with Covid. Only a short 7 days later, Bob lost his battle with Covid and a sudden heart attack.
