He was predeceased by: his parents, George Zika and Caroline Zika; his wife Ann; his daughter Caroline; his granddaughter Brittany; and his sister Rosemary.

He is survived by: his former wife Rosella Mae Larson; and his children, Joseph (Tina), Daniel (Leah) and Elizabeth. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
