Eugene Hoflin Obituary

Dad no longer needs a plane to fly, he earned his wings Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 11:30 PM. Eugene “Gene” Hoflin passed away in Billings, MT at the age of 82. He was born July 22, 1939 in Caldwell, ID to Eric Axel Hoflin and Zelma Ruth Button Jones Hoflin, joining 1 sibling and 3 half siblings.
He served in the Air Force, Navy Seabees, Army and later worked as a heavy equipment operator at a copper mine in Tucson.
Gene enjoyed C.B. radios early in life, along with playing cards with close friends. Airplanes were a great passion of his, and he loved flying them. His favorite childhood food was watermelon, which he proved by sneaking them out of his mom’s garden.
To be totally honest though our Dad was known for the many stories that he told and most people who knew him just listened with a loving ear.
Dad we miss you already and we will forever love you!
