He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Haugrud Farmer; his son Scott Farmer (Bonnie); his grandsons, Scotty and Nathan; his daughter Stacy Tenney (Scott); his granddaughter Olivia; and his close friends, Charlie, Connie, Lee, Ruthie and Fred.
During his long teaching tenure, he was awarded several National Science Foundation scholarships and honored by the Montana Education Association as Science Teacher of the Year.
