He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Best and Ruth Best; his daughter Kathleen O'Farrell; and his granddaughter Elanna Markland. He is survived by: his wife Merylann; and his daughters, Kimberly Cooney (Patrick Cooney), Cindy O'Dell (Sean O'Dell) and Christine Markland (Ronald Markland). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
His battle with Covid-19 ended peacefully as he was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
The family requests that in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations be made to Doctors Without Borders or the Gideon's International Society.
