She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Braaten and Helen Braaten (Elgen); her siblings, Kenneth, Duane and Lorene (Lolly); and her children, Kendall and LouAnn Sorg.
She is survived by: her former spouses, Hermon Smith and Glenn Johnson; her husband Hobert Heiken; her sons, Tom (Donna) and Kenneth (Teri); her son-in-law Todd Sorg; her grandchildren, Sadie, Kimberly (Cheyenne), Charlotte, Kendall and Anna; and her great grandchildren, Eliona, Kailey, Aleah and Zoey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
After Betty was admitted to the Pioneer Medical Center due to advancing Alzheimer's, Hobert was there regularly to visit and to help with her meals.
