He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Ophus and Pearl Ophus; his wife Norma Krumsick; his siblings, Evelin, Gertrude, Ruth, Jeanine, Alfred, Helmer, Ben, Myron, Lester and Byron; and his son-in-law Roger Pearson.
He is survived by: his friends, Luke and Larry; his children, Nora Grubb (Doug), Darleena Gifford, Larry Ophus (Verla), Delores Reichelt (Monte) and Karolee Pearson; his siblings, Loretta, Vernon and Lyle Ophus (Barbara); and his sister-in-law Wilma Welty. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren (and spouses); twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
Lawrence's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to the Big Sandy Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department, Big Sandy Medical Center, Big Sandy Medical Guild, or the charity of the donor's choice.
