He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Ackerman and Rose Ackerman; his wife Alice VanHoorn; his daughter-in-law Darcy; and his siblings, Theodore, LeRoy, Madeline and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony, Colleen Nelson (Gary), Gregory, Timothy, Thomas (Sherry), Janine Mahn (Karl) and Barbara; and his brother Maurice (Wanda). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
