He was predeceased by: his parents, JoAnn Hammer and Leo Hammer (Sam); his brother David; and his grandparents, Madeline Barnaby and Joseph Weaselhead.

He is survived by: his son Eric Hammer; his sisters, Brenda Martinez (Dave) and Renae Hammer (Korbin McClure); his nieces and nephews, Shawn Hammer, David Hammer (Ta-Pete), Roberta Hammer and JoAnna Hammer; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaleb, Jacob, Nehemiah, Nijah and Evangalina.
