He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlyn Schaefer and Audrey Schaefer (Schauman); and his friends, Gary and Tom. He is survived by: his wife Lynnette; his children, Lindsey Bogner (Mark) of Odin, Kansas, Robart Schaefer (Alexandra) of Columbia Falls, Donnie Schaefer (Mikee) of Arlee and Verena Fath of Columbia Falls; his grandchildren, Zoey Bogner, John Schaefer, James Schaefer, Otto Bogner, Roo Fath and Evie Fath; and his siblings, Mike Schaefer (Louie) of Avoca, John Schaefer (Ellen Horther) of Guerneville, Glenn Schaefer (Helga) of Karlsruhe, Germany and Karen Schaefer of Ronan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help cover final expenses.
