He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Rivers and Mary Rivers (Traynor); his daughter Michelle 'Mike Teilborg; his son-in-law John 'Pete Peterson; and his siblings, Jim Rivers (Therese), Mary Smith (Leo), Robert Rivers, Louis Rivers, Francis Rivers, Leo Rivers and Jack Rivers (Paul Rivers).
He is survived by: his wife Dona Smith; his friend Hank Burgess; his son Copperhead; his grandsons, Riley, Kelan and San Francisco; his children, Sheila Wilson (Nate), Annie Furukawa (Mike), Mary Hunt (Bill) and Bob Rivers (Theresa); his son-in-law Tom Teilborg; his children, Deb Peterson and Rich Rivers; his grandchildren, Patrick Scott-Wilson (Shad), Melinda Allen (Brandon), Tom Wilson (Haley), Jennie Coen (Greg), Michael Teilborg (Bridget), Sadie Teilborg, John Casagranda (Catherine), Chris Furukawa, James Furukawa, Zach Rivers, Jake Rivers, Caitlin Rivers, Eli Hunt (Sayward), Jared Hunt (Elizabeth), Ryan Rivers (Faith Pickering) and Connor Rivers (Jeanne); and his great grandchildren, Deacon, Ellie, John, George, Hank, Gunner, Tucker and Declan. He is also survived by the two sisters could be reunited with their parents and younger brother.
The catholic nuns, from the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, raised Luke and Jack at the Helena Orphanage until they matriculated out as teenagers to be reunited with their younger brother Paul in Anaconda.
