He was predeceased by: his wife Judith "Judy" Nelson; his son Brian Nelson; his former wife Shirley Nelson; his brother Bob Nelson; and his parents, Harlen Nelson and Blanche Nelson.

He is survived by: his pet Penny. He is also survived by his children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, many more family and friends.
