He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard B. Hughes and Frances Holloway Hughes; his brothers, James L. Hughes and George Gus Hughes; and his mother-in-law Nida Middleton.
He is survived by: his wife Pejay Haney Hughes of Woodland; his children, Shannon Easley of Woodland and Tony Sparks of Texas; his grandchildren, Alex Ely, Lindsey Sparks, Abbie Ely, Leah Easley, Kennedy Ely, Tinsley Pounds, Joby Pounds, Waylon Pounds and Ryan Sparks; his nephews, Linn Hughes and John Hughes; and his niece Ellen Allen. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
