She was predeceased by: her parents, Simpson Vance and Mildred Evans Vance; her husband Wayne Melton; her son James Edward "Bubba" Lindsey, Jr.; and her sister Linda Dunn.

She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Wingo of Winona and Cindy Pyron (Randy) of Duck Hill; her siblings, Helen Gregg of Winona and Jimmy Vance (Cookie) of Winona; and her grandson Randall "P. J.".
