He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Yates and Doris Palmertree Yates; his brother Troy Yates; and his stepmother Mary Yates. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Yates Blaylock (Tommy Gene), Tinker Bell Yates Lindsey (Larry) and Henry "Bone" Wright; his brother Jerry Yates (Jill); and his grandchildren, Brandon Amason (Angela), Carl Wayne Amason (Kelly), Will Yates (Trina) and Amanda Cirilo (Santos). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
