He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Mizell and Ellander Mizell; his grandson Aaron Mizell; and his siblings, Otis Mizell, Elena Waller, Leona Waller, Edward Mizell, George Mizell and Mack W. Mizell.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Owen of Hattiesburg, Anita "Dobie" Cain (Randall) of Brooklyn, Michael Mizell (Rebbecca) of Wiggins and Brentley Mizell of Wiggins; his brothers, Robert Mizell of Waynesboro and Arthur Mizell of Clara; and his niece Helen Vermilyea. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
