It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gay Rayburn (Wiggins, Mississippi), born in Biloxi, Mississippi, who passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sardin Breland and Iduma Breland; her former husband James A. "Jake" Rayburn, Sr. of Big Level, MS; her son James A. "Jimmy" Rayburn, Jr.; and her siblings, Talmage Breland, John Breland, Donald Boyce Breland, Kathryn Fairley, Iva Rigby and Jean Morgan.
She is survived by: her friend Ronald Stephenson; her husband Ronald Stephenson; her daughter Sheila Cumbest (Chris) of Morton, MS; her daughter-in-law Melissa Rayburn of Clinton, MS.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Cumbest Byrd (Phillip), Jesse Cumbest (Mikala) of Atlanta, GA and Grace Clark (Walker) of Gluckstadt, MS; her great grandchild Tillis Ann Byrd of Atlanta; and her siblings, Bertha Taylor (Elwood) and Keith Breland of Florence, MS. She is also survived by nephews and nieces and dear friends.
