He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Mitchell Sr. and Verna Mitchell O'Leary; and his sister Sandra Mitchell Holmes. He is survived by: his sister Rosemary Mitchell Robbins (Lennis) of Brandon, Mississippi; his nieces, Nicole Petitt (Barry) and Amanda Chatelain (Chris); his great-nieces, Jade Hall and Emma Chatelain; his nephew Thomas Chandler Bounds; and his great-nephew Ben Chatelain.
