He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Hopkins Darnell and James Edwin Darnell. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Darnell of West Point; his sons, Michael Lewis Martin (Ramona), Thomas H. Darnell Jr. (Trixie) of West Point and Charles Edwin Darnell (Karrie) of Iowa; his brother James Darnell (Kristen); and his grandchildren, Melissa Jernigan (Jon), Steven Martin (Alissa), Ashley Darnell, Ross Darnell (Schyler), Nicholas Darnell, Grant Darnell and Alex Darnell. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
