He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Childers Childress and Eugene Otis Childress; his daughter Julia Ann Childress; and his brother Wayne Childress. He is survived by: his wife Helen Childress of Oxford; his children, Donald Eugene 'Gene Childress (Wendy) of West Point and Tiffany East (Michael) of Oxford; his brother Paul Childress (Diane); his sister-in-law Rose Marie Childress; his grandchildren, Ashton Woodson (Jonathan), Madison Childress, Anna Kathryn Middleton (John Carver), Julia Rae East, Ava East and Michael Ann East; and his great grandchildren, Addison Woodson and Drew Woodson.
