He was predeceased by: his father John Shelton Brand Sr.; his son Robert Brand; and his siblings, John Shelton Brand Jr. and Martha Williams. He is survived by: his wife Martha Jo Brand of West Point; his children, Lazelle Brand of West Point, Ricky Brand of West Point and Tony Brand (Karen) of Phoenix; his sister Peggy Davis (Grady) of West Point; and his sisters-in-law, Gertrude Gaskin (Coy) of Cedar Bluff, Cindy Cliett (Andy) of Cedar Bluff and Nita Brand of McCondy. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: 12 great-grandchildren.
