He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton C. Benson and Eunice Ray Benson; and his grandson Nicholas Travis. He is survived by: his wife Nora Benson; his children, Christy Travis (Ron) of Cedar Bluff, Ricky Benson of Hickory, NC and Larry Benson (Lori) of Athens, TN.; his grandchildren, Curtis, Chris, Courtney Benson, Lauren McKinney, Brittney and Victoria Travis; and his siblings, Jimmy Benson, Ellen Turnipseed and Pat Brand.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
