She was predeceased by: her mother R. C. Steadman; her husband Roy "Spanky" Bruce; her siblings, Robert C. "Bobby" Steadman, Malcolm "Mac" Steadman, Charles "Charlie" Steadman, Jeanette Steadman Pyle of West Point and Katherine Steadman Davis of West Point; and her mother-in-law Helon "Honey" Bruce.
She is survived by: her children, Stacy Bruce Hays (Joey) of West Point, Clark Bruce (Donna) and Layne Bruce of Madison; her grandchildren, Thomas Hays, Mary Helon Hays of West Point and Clark Hays (Emily) of Brandon; and her great grandchild William Hays of Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of West Point PO Box 293 West Point, MS 39773 or the West Point Clay County Animal Shelter 5122 Old Tibbee Rd West Point, MS 39773, where she adopted her best friend, Ellie the tuxedo cat, in 2010.
