He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Newell and Dorothy Newell; and his brother-in-law Rev. John Harper. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Newell; his daughter Stephanie Twiner; his grandchildren, Brittany Lambert (Landon), Chace Twiner (Rosie) and Emily Hart (Jonathan); and his siblings, Willie Newell (Meri), Jesse Newell (Linda) and Faye Harper. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Dr NE, Brookhaven, MS 39601). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at the New Sight Baptist Church Cemetery (2404 New Sight Dr NE, Brookhaven, MS 39601).
