It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy J. Roberts of Waynesboro, Mississippi, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Wanda Jean Bonds; her husband Milton Roberts; her parent Berry Orvan Bonds; her siblings, James Bonds, Danny Bonds, Shirley Hanlon and Mary Shaw; and her grandson Colby Allen.
She is survived by: her children, Sammie Scott Rushing of Statesville, NC, Ricky Glen Rushing of Flowood, MS, Christie Hammack of Waynesboro, MS and Alyshia Kendrick of Buckatunna, MS; her grandchildren, Benjamin Rushing, Celina Rushing, Ricky Shane Rushing, Crista Ericksen, Darrion Rushing, Lazarus Allen, Brittany Gardner, Clarissa Brown, Dawson Kendrick and Caleb Kendrick; and her pet Andy. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (1305 Skyland Dr, Waynesboro, MS 39367). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Roberts Cemetery (2095 Line Creek Rd, Osyka, MS 39657).
