With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larred Porter Gandy of Waynesboro, Mississippi, born in Meridian, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 9, 2024 at the age of 20. He was predeceased by: his grandmother Sue Bell; and his uncle Edward Gandy. He is survived by: his parents, Frank Gandy and Melissa Gandy of Waynesboro, MS; his fiancée Dixie Barnes of Melbourne, AR; his sister Madison Gandy; his grandparents, Larry of Waynesboro, MS and Pat Gandy of Waynesboro, MS; his nephew Kadyn Peabody; his uncle Ben Gandy (Emily) of Waynesboro, MS; and his aunts, Linda Cox (Chris) of Hamilton, AL and Brenda Benefield (Paul) of Tuscaloosa, AL. He is also survived by cousins, friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up a welding scholarship fund to be used at Arkansas Elite Welding Academy in memory of Porter. All donations will go to the "Porter Gandy Memorial Welding Fund" at First State Bank, PO Box 506, Waynesboro, MS 39367 to help others pursue their dream of becoming a welder.
