He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Goodnight and William Avant Sr.; and his brother Joe Avant (Vietnam). He is survived by: his son David Lyn Avant (Tracie) of Pine Valley; his grandchildren, Katie Fowler (Keltrick) of Water Valley, Kevin Avant of Water Valley and Jonathan Pruitt of Byhalia; his brother Harry Avant; and his great grandchild Aaliyah. He is also survived by 4 nieces.
