He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Marion Smith of Oakland; and his wife Loretta Hanks Smith. He is survived by: his children, Bettye Durham (Saxon) of Bartlett and James "Jamie" Smith (Joyce) of Pontotoc, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Chander Durham, Gabriel Durham of Bartlett, Matthew Smith, Madison Smith of Booneville, Hunter Smith of Coffeeville, Wilbur Rodgers, Tabatha Rodgers and Salena Hollinger of Pontotoc, Mississippi; his father Aaron Smith; his brothers, Joe (Carol) and Gene Smith; and also Liam Durham of Cordova, Tennessee..
In lieu of flowers, the family has designated West Cancer Foundation as the benefactor of any memorials.
