He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Caldwell and Esteen Caldwell; his wife Alma Fay Chapman Caldwell; and his sister Gertrude. He is survived by: his children, Hugh Caldwell, Jr. (Vickie), Johnny B. Caldwell, Nathaniel Murphy, Lula Hill of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Sanford (Jabo) and Rolanda Ware of Water Valley, MS; and his siblings, John Lee Caldwell (Lula B.), Barbara Ann White (Charles) of Water Valley, MS, Shirley Faye Wright (Charles) of Water Valley, MS, Bennie Faye Phillips (Wayne) of Water Valley, MS and Alma Lee Jones (Michael) of Oxford, MS. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:25 PM at the Pine Grove East M. B. Church (113 Co Rd 94, Water Valley, MS 38965). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
