He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Mitchell and Clara Mitchell (Burgess); and his siblings, Earl Mitchell, Coleman Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, Laura Mitchell, Massie Buford and Bertha Lloyd.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Toliver; his daughters, Trina Buford of Oxford, MS and Tawanda Hill (Corey) of Batesville, MS; his goddaughter Ardis Amos (Greg) of Grenada, MS; and his siblings, Charles Mitchell (Bertha) of Newport News, VA, Lottie Smith (Lafayette) of Arlington, TN, Annie Giddens of Chicago, IL and Sadie Cooper (Arnold) of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
