She was predeceased by: her parents, George Carr (Laura) and Laura Hall Carr; her husband Joe Essex Martin; her children, Bruce Martin, Hervie Martin and Valerie Martin Stewart; and her siblings, Maggie Carr Turner, Ruby Lee Toles (Broadis) and Stacy Carr.
She is survived by: her children, Maurice Martin (Audrey) of Oxford, MS, Thomas Martin (Linda) of San Antonio, TX, Dr. Joyce Martin of Oxford, MS and Beverly Brown of Oxford, MS; her brothers, Raymond Carr (Katie) of Water Valley, MS, Johnny Carr (Clara) and Jonas Carr (Dannish) of Chicago, IL; her sister-in-law Gladys Carr of Union City, TN; and her granddaughter Paris Stewart of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
