He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Barnes, Sr. and Gladys Mae Thetford Barnes; his wife Nancy; and his brothers, John Thomas Barnes, Jr. and Jimmy Ray Barnes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deanna Gail Barnes Rushing of Harrison, AR. and Mona Peeples (Rocky) of Batesville; his brothers, Larry Barnes (Beverly) of Fredricksburg, IO and Billy Barnes; his grandchildren, Samantha Leverett and John Michael Rushing; and his great grandchild Michael Leverett, III.
