He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ellis and Leona Chappell Ellis; and his sister Sarah Cole. He is survived by: his son Dale Ellis (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Cortland Ellis and Sophia Ellis; his niece Sylvia Adams; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Richardson and Jayne Haralson.
