It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Ford-Simpson (Walls, Mississippi), who passed away on May 16, 2020, at the age of 45, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Bobby Lee Chapman King; her grandparents, Estell McFarling, Adolphus Chapman Sr. and Annie Louise Herring Ford; her aunts and uncles, Ray Charles Chapman, Max Wayne Chapman, Emma Green, Arie R. Wright, Gennett Shaw and Mary Louise Wright Parker; and her sister Carol Winfield.
She is survived by: her mother Dorothy V. King of Courtland, MS; her husband Willie A. Simpson of Charleston, MS; her children, Jamal D. Herring of Memphis, TN, JaCameron R. Ford of Walls, MS and Anissa L. Ford; her stepchildren, Tkelah Carter and Willie Carter of Charleston, MS; her daughter Tramaine Mack; and her siblings, Travis C. King (Kesha) of Milwaukee, WI and Clarice H. Jackson (Napoleon) of Courtland, MS. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts and in-laws.
