It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Theresa Mathews of Vicksburg, Mississippi, born in Bryceland, Louisiana, who passed away on June 3, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sister Wanda Jean Hebert; and her parents, Myrtle Pearline Lawson (Kilpatrick) and Thomas Walter Carter (Jack). She is survived by: her husband Bobby Morrell Mathews; her children, Kelvin Mathews and Lynise; her brother Garland Cook; her grandchildren, Larissa Mathews, Carmen Chapin, Jessica Chapin-Reep, Daniel Johnson, Lindsey Johnson, Lauren York-Hoda and Miller-Elizabeth York; and her daughter Bernice. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the University of Mississippi Medical Center's.
