He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Winans; his brother Jody Winans; and his parents, Hugh Neal Winans and Wanda Batt. He is survived by: his sons, Billy Winans and Michael Winans; and his siblings, Skip Winans and Patty Winans. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Breeland Funeral Home (3304 S Liberty St, Canton, MS 39046). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

“Recalling the Summers that the Winans boys and girls spent in Canton at our Mamaw Dora’s house. There would be at least a dozen of us together through the better part of the Summers .Richard would come with his brothers and sister from Oklahoma. we all looked forward to being together. Richard gave me the nickname,”Joe boy” .. I always looked at him as a big brother during those times and have lots of wonderful memories. He will always be remembered and missed. Joe Winans”
