She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Hugh H. Johnston, Sr. and Hazel Pond Johnston; and her husbands, David Lanier May and Max K. Klaus. She is survived by: her children, Martha Debra Strickland and David Johnston May; her grandson Michael David Strickland (Laura Beth); her great grandchild Michael Strickland; her stepchildren, Meta Klaus, Ken Klaus (Diane) and Marsha Klaus; her stepgrandchildren, Gareth Gilliland Lampkin (Randy), Hunt Gilliland (Lindsey), Keith Klaus (Sara) and Kyle Klaus (Lindsey); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Riley Lampkin, Lachlan Lampkin, Gray Lampkin, William Gilliland, Sam Gilliland, Max Klaus, Miles Klaus and Maren Klaus; and her pet Gracie. She is also survived by brother, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
