It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jesse Bryan Davenport Jr. in Vicksburg, Mississippi, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Nelson and Jesse Davenport Sr.; his wives, Bettie Fuller Davenport and Bobbye Harris Davenport; and his siblings, Richard Henry Davenport, Kenneth Ray Davenport, Joe Thompson Davenport, Emily Jewel Baily and Hettie Florence Davenport.
He is survived by: his children, Jesse Bryan Davenport III, Debra Isaac (Tom), Dr. Florence Cuneo (Bryan) and Dr. Margaret Bateman (Blane); his stepdaughters, Mauri Gore (Marc) and Marla Sims (Marc); his grandchildren, Richard Bateman, Austin Gore, Robbie McDonald, Aubrey Heilman (Alexander), Paul Isaac, Patrick Cuneo (Kelley), Kathleen Bradford (John) and Sarah Ward; his sisters, Martha Oswalt, Elizabeth Owens and Patricia Bozeman; and his sister-in-law Evone Davenport. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fisher-Riles Funeral Home (5000 Indiana Ave, Vicksburg, MS 39180). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery (191 US-80, Vicksburg, MS 39180).
