With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Katie Ruth Gordey of Verona, Mississippi, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Katie Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Katie Ruth touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. B. Ridgeway and Paulene Ridgeway; her stepfather James E. Gardner; and her half-brother Johnny Shaw. She is survived by: her husband Larry Gordey of Columbus; her stepson Jeffrey Gordey (Michelle) of Columbus; her brother Billy Ridgeway of Columbus; and her grandsons, Josh Gordey, Jacob Gordey, Dylan Gordey and Daniel Gordey.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lee Memorial Park (5257 Raymond Ave, Tupelo, MS 38879).
