She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack E. Leggett and Bessie L. Leggett; and her siblings, Rena Leggett Smith, Frank Leggett, Mary Leggett Muirhead, Patricia Anne Kennedy, Evelyn Wolbrecht and Peggie Gene Leggett Applewhite.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Smith Sr.; her children, Melissa Smith Johnson, Michelle Smith Hutner and Melvin Smith Jr.; her grandchildren, Jerry Heath Douglas, Whitney Douglas, Lance Becker, Nathan Teske, Nicholas Becker and Kelsey Smith; her great grandchildren, Trey Allo, Brennan Allo, Gianna Douglas, Caleb Allo, Raeanna Mackalica, Mila Lalita Isabella Delgado, Connor Melvin Becker, Carsyn Teske and Pyper Teske; her sister Myrtle Leggett McDavid; and her pets, Ted and Max.
