He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ira Thurman and Margaret Dorothy Havens (Ellis); his siblings, Ira T. and Denise; his children, Rachel, Dan Ellis Havens II (Christi Pershing Havens) of Greenville, SC, Charles "Chuck" G. Havens (Phuc Le Havens) of D'Iberville, MS and Laura Ann Matthews (Jeffery J. Matthews) of Vancleave, MS; his grandchildren, Phillip, Samantha, Henry, Benjamin, Molly Kate, Jack and Eli; and his great grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Riley, Martha and Kady. He was also cherished by his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has created a GOFUNDME account (https://gofund.me) where friends and family may donate towards scholarships for children in the Vancleave community to take piano lessons with Nelda's School of Music.
