She was predeceased by: her parents, Hamp Tyler and Ila Summerhill Tyler; her children, Jimmy Evans and Joyce; and her brother Julius C. Tyler, Sr..
She is survived by: her husband James Travis Evans; and her daughters, Janet Majure and Judy Copeland. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
