He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCorkle and Kitty Sullivan McCorkle; and his siblings, Leneva Stewart, Margie Mullen, Mozelle Nelms, Estes McCorkle and Charles McCorkle.

He is survived by: his wife Hilda Pinkston McCorkle of Vaiden; his children, Kathy Eddins (Don) of Vaiden and Andy McCorkle (Delinda) of Vaiden; and his brother Fred McCorkle of Leland. He is also survived by five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
