With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marion Elizabeth Hamby in University, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 10, 2024 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Vernon Pugh and Effie Mae Burchfield Pugh; her significant other Pete Simmons; and her siblings, Hubert Pugh, James Pugh, Billy Pugh and Doris Singleton.
She is survived by: her sons, William Gregory Hamby (Debbie) of Madison, MS and Jeffery Mitchell Hamby of Ripley, MS; her brother Jerry Pugh of Muscle Shoals, AL; her grandchildren, Ashley, Doug Horaist of Lafyette, LA, Trace and Bradyn Hamby of Dallas, TX; and her great grandchild Ellison Horaist of Lafyette, LA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
