It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Benjamin Nelson Jr. of Union, Mississippi, born in Levelland, Texas, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Nelson, Sr. and Nell Nelson; his sister Bonnie Yates; and his brother-in-law Terry Stroud. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Benjamin and Kate Holcomb; his children-in-law, Corey and Josephine; his grandchildren, John Michael Holcomb and Scarlett Grace Holcomb; his sister Jane Stroud; his niece Tara; his nephew Clint; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Briar, Elias, Raston, Brixtyn and Braycen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church, reflecting Benjie's commitment to the work of ministry.
