He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney C. Mason of Linwood and Carmen Peden Mason; and his sisters, Virginia Rivers, Lois Williams, Marian Isbell and Chloe Neil Luke.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mason of Bessemer, Ala.; his daughter Jackie M. Franco (David); his granddaughters, Cheree Franco and Karla Peppas (Costas); his great grandchildren, Eliana Peppas and Alexander Peppas; his stepson Cole Alcorn (Tresa); his brother Charles Mason (Sara); and his nephew Aaron Waddell (Kay). He is also survived by numerous other nephews and nieces.
